South Australian Derby
The South Australian Derby is an Australian Group 1 Thoroughbred race held each year at the Morphettville racecourse in Adelaide South Australia. The race is run by the South Australian Jockey Club and forms part of the Adelaide autumn racing carnival.
The race is for three year olds, run at set weights over a distance of 2500 metres. Each year the race attracts a good class of horses fighting it out for the lucrative A$500,000 prize money.
